William T. Greenough director Professor of psychology, psychiatry (Chicago campus), cell and structural biology, bioengineering, co-director, biological intelligence program, The Beckman Institute, and Swanlund Endowed Chair. Professor Greenough was named director of the Center in January 2000. (See CAS professor entry for more information.) wgreenou@s.psych.illinois.edu Masumi Iriye associate director Masumi Iriye was appointed assistant director of the Center in October 2000 and promoted to associate director in October 2001. She is responsible for overseeing the programs of the Center, including CAS community activities, the Resident Studies program, CAS interdisciplinary initiatives, the George A. Miller Programs, and the CAS John Bardeen Scholars Program. She received her doctorate in the History of Art in 1994 (University of Michigan) and specializes in visual culture from the early modern period in France. Her dissertation research was supported by a Bourse Chateaubriand, Fulbright Travel Fellowship and Rackham Graduate Research awards (University of Michigan). She was a visiting assistant professor in the program of the History of Art at UIUC (Spring 1998) and has presented papers as an invited participant at Dumbarton Oaks (Washington, D.C.) and the Center for 21st-Century Studies, University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She has served as both a panelist and cochair for meetings of the College Art Association. iriye@illinois.edu Jackie R. Jenkins coordinator of budget/human resources and release time appointments Jackie Jenkins has been with the Center since 1993 and was promoted to her current position in October 2001. She directs the day-to-day operation of the Center and manages the human and material resources and the budget. Most faculty are familiar with the Associates and Fellows competitions that she administers along with the CAS Bardeen graduate and undergraduate competitions. In 1993 Jackie received her master's in education degree from UIUC; "Minority Achievement: How Community Colleges Can Meet Minority Student Needs," Update on Research and Leadership, was published in spring 1993. Currently she is a member of the Business Manager's group; and she has served on the Staff Advisory Counsel (2002-03), the Chancellor's Committee on the Status of Women (1997-99), and was a member of the Paradox User's Group (1993-94). After being nominated earlier in her career by another department, she received the Chancellor's Distinguished Staff Award in 1994 from the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. jrjenkin@illinois.edu Liesel Wildhagen coordinator of public events Liesel Wildhagen came to the Center with administrative experience in a variety of educational and nonprofit settings, including Indiana University, the Chicago Architecture Foundation, and the McKinley Foundation at the University of Illinois. She has primary responsibility for public events offered by the Center, staffing the relevant committees and handling the details of publicity and production of the resulting events, including the CAS/MillerComm series, the George A. Miller Visiting Professor and Scholar program, the CAS Annual Lecture, and annual initiatives' events. Liesel attended Knox College in political science and international relations, did graduate work in College Student Personnel Administration at Indiana University, and attended the HERS Management Institute for Women in Higher Education Administration, Wellesley College.
